Kurz vor dem wichtigen Spiel gegen das verbleibende deutsche Team nahmen wir uns lurppis von roccat zur Seite und fragten ihn ein wenig aus.

GameSports.net: HI lurppis. So finaly you are on the finals and played already two round. The first match you lost pretty close to fnatic. On the second map you faced mousesports and beside the first map, which you lost, you won pretty clearly. Did you expected that loss against fnatic and the win versus mouz?

lurppis: Well i think we could have won against fnatic. On inferno we played very well the first round and won 11-4. Then we very stupid, lost some rounds very silly and lost 12-3. Beeing more concentrated we should have won this match. train was the second map and we had no problems against fnatic on this map. The third map was nuke and fnatic was very strong on this map and won because they were the better team.
Against mouz we started on train pretty well and won 9-6. Overall we should have won this map but we did some mistakes and so mouz won. After that came inferno and we just played a very strong first side and showed on that map, how strong we can be. On the third map dust2 we had a very bad start the first few rounds but we got better into the game the more rounds we played and at the end our ct side was very important and decided that game for us.

In the season you finished thrid and because of that many people didnt gave you a realistic chance for the finals but you proved them better and played very strong. What happened the last weeks and days that you improved your gameplay that much and can keep up with the top teams in the world?

Hmmm, well online we just suck. But there are different reasons for that. At many games we have to play on german or swedish servers against german or swedish teams so we got a ping disadvantage. Also it is really hard to motivate the whole team playing online under that conditions. But offline we are very motivated and have good pings, of course.
Before the finals we did a three-day bootcamp here in Berlin and improved there a lot.

Next game you are going versus Alternate. They showed and terifficly exciting match against fnatic and won very clearly against mouz. How much would you bet on your own team for this upcoming match?

It depends a lot on the maps we play and who will win the pistol rounds. A very important fact is in which shape mooN ist. Yesterday he had a very good day and leaded his team so the good results they showed. So lets hope he doesnt have a good day again like yesterday.

Lets assume you will make it to the overall final. Do you think you are able to beat fnatic in two best of three games?

We are definitely able to beat them in one best of three. As i already said we should have won against them in the first match but did a lot dumb mistakes. Teh second best of three would be very tough because the teams know each other really well then and can react one the playstyle of the other team.

Yesterday your team was by far the loudest when you played your matches. Do you need that shouting and yelling for pushing yourself over the limit and play the best you can?

Not really, its just something we always do so it became pretty naturaly for us. You also need to shout here because it was very loud yesterday and i wasnt even able to understand my mate sitting two places next to me so this shouting is nothing special and just normal for us.
